One impaired driver caught by GSPS RIDE blitz

GSPS officers set up check stops on Brady Street, Howey Drive, Bancroft Drive and Elm Street.

During the one-day blitz, officers issued one 90-day driver's license suspension to a motorist who failed a roadside screening device test. The driver was transported to police headquarters where breath samples were provided and revealed a blood alcohol concentration level above the legal limit. 

The driver was charged accordingly and was issued an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.

Officers also issued a pair of tickets for equipment offences. A total of 14 drivers were ticketed for document offences (insurance, registration) and three drivers were charged for speeding.
