One person dead, four others injured after Hwy. 17 crash west of Sudbury

One person is dead and four others injured after a single motor vehicle collision west of Sudbury Tuesday evening.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the Highway 17 crash in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township at around 4:50 p.m. Aug. 25. The highway was closed for several hours between Webbwood and Espanola.

The OPP say the investigation has revealed the vehicle left the roadway. The driver of the vehicle and one person sustained minor injuries. Two other people sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were all transported to hospital. 

One person was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigators.
