Crash update: Traffic moving MR 55, driver transported to hospital

Crashes occurring across the city as deep freeze makes roads slick

Updated at 10:01 a.m.: Municipal Road 55 has fully re-opened after a single-vehicle collision at around 9:20 a.m. today. A vehicle struck a rock cut. The driver has been transported to Health Sciences North with non-life-threatening injuries.

Updated at 9:49 a.m.: Paris Street, between John Street and McNaughton Street is fully re-opened after a vehicle struck a snowbank about an hour ago. No injuries were reported.

Updated at 9:19 a.m.: Police, fire and ambulance are responding to a crash on Municipal Road 55 between Black Lake Road and the Hillcrest subdivision in Lively.

One lane of traffic on MR 55 is blocked, but it's not clear in which direction.

Updated at 8:50 a.m.: Police, fire and ambulance are at a two-vehicle crash at Lasalle Boulevard and McAllister Avenue. Unknown extent of injuries. Motorists will experience delays.

Drivers are advised to slow down and leave extra room ahead of you.

Updated at 8:40 a.m.: There's been a collision on Paris Street between John Street and McNaughton Street, Greater Sudbury Police reported on Twitter at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

One vehicle is in the snow bank, police said. Traffic is backing up on Paris Street.

"Motorists will experience delays in the area," said police. "Please make room for emergency responders."
