Update: Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck on Notre Dame last night

Update: Nov. 8, 3:15 p.m.

A 62-year old man was transported to hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition after he was struck by a passenger van late last night.

At the time of the collision, the man was walking northbound in the direction of Val Caron on the west side of the roadway (facing traffic) on the paved edge of the lane.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance and is asking any witnesses who may have seen the collision or the male pedestrian prior to the collision to contact the Traffic Management Unit at 705-675-9171 extension 2411.

A pedestrian is recovering today after being struck by a car last night on Notre Dame Avenue/Regional Road 80.

The collision occurred north of Turner Avenue, Greater Sudbury Police said.

The incident happened at 11:50 p.m., closing the southbound lanes of RR 80 until just after 5 a.m.

The Traffic Management Unit continues to investigate the crash.

The victim remains in hospital in critical condition.
