Police ask victims of theft from vehicles in Corsi Street area to come forward

Greater Sudbury Police Service located a 35-year-old male walking in and out of driveways in the Corsi Hill and Platinum St. area on Feb. 9 at 3:40 am.

The male, who was not a resident of the area, and was arrested for trespassing / prowling near a dwelling house contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A subsequent search of his person revealed that he was in possession of a number of articles that would commonly be kept in a vehicle. These articles included:

- Compact Music Discs and holder   
- Digital Camera
- Sunglasses
- Electronic Device cords

Police suspect that the male entered unlocked vehicles in the immediate area and removed some of the items that were located on his person. To date, Police have not received any reports of thefts from vehicles in the Corsi St. and Platinum St. area.

In an attempt to identify the property and lay appropriate criminal charges, Police are asking that anyone who was the victim of a theft from their vehicle on Feb. 9, contact the Greater Sudbury Police Service’s Property Crime Coordinator at 675-9171, ext. 2615.   

Brian Earl Gates, 35, of Sudbury is presently charged with:Trespass / prowl near a dwelling house and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
