Police Board elects new chair

The Greater Sudbury Police Board elected a new chair and vice-chair at their January meeting Monday night. Taking over for David Petryna in the chair position is Dr. Rayudu Koka, former vice-chair.

The Greater Sudbury Police Board elected a new chair and vice-chair at their January meeting Monday night. Taking over for David Petryna in the chair position is Dr. Rayudu Koka, former vice-chair. Filling Koka's roll is ward five councillor Ron Dupuis.

The board is comprised of five members; two Provincial appointees, two Regional Council appointees and one member of the community as appointed by City Council.

The board provides direction and guidance to the Greater Sudbury Police Service, while ensuring that adequate and effective police services are provided in accordance with the needs of the municipality.
