Police charge 92 drivers with speeding

After a number of complaints in regards to motorists speeding along Lorne St. and Highway 69 N in Valley East, Greater Sudbury Police were on patrol in those areas during the day Aug. 28, charging 92 drivers. On Lorne St.

After a number of complaints in regards to motorists speeding along Lorne St. and Highway 69 N in Valley East, Greater Sudbury Police were on patrol in those areas during the day Aug. 28, charging 92 drivers.

On Lorne St. two drivers tied for the highest speed and were caught driving 84km/h in a 50km/h zone. Each received a fine of $259.

In Valley East, the high speed was 103km/h in a 60km/h zone. The offending driver received a fine of $323.

Police say several drivers were also warned about their speed and other violations under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police are again reminding motorists to slow down and obey the maximum speed limit.
