Greater Sudbury Police charged a man with animal cruelty June 19 after he left his dog in a sweltering hot car.

“It's a criminal offence,” police said on Twitter. “You will be charged. Take the pledge. No hot pets. Do your pet a favour and leave them at home. Even a short period of time is too long for their tiny organs.”
