Police investigate two weekend stabbings

In separate and unrelated incidents, two men were admitted to hospital after being stabbed this past weekend in Greater Sudbury.

On Friday Sept. 8, a 42-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder and robbed of his money as he was walking home on Elgin St. The incident happenned at approximately 11:30 pm between the Ledo Hotel and the Samaritan Centre.

The man was able to break free from his attacker and sought medical help at St. Joseph's Health centre where he was treated and released.

Police are looking for a white male, between five-foot-eight and five-foot-ten, about 200 pounds with brown hair and a thin goatee.

In the second incident, Sept. 9, at approximately 2:15 pm, a man was stabbed in the neck at a residence on Tedman St. The man remains in hospital although he is expected to recover. A second man received non life-threatening injuries and has been released.

Police say they have one man in custody for an unrelated matter who may also have been involved in the disturbance.
