Police investigating a pair of overnight robberies

A woman was walking alone on a footpath near King St. around 11 pm Thursday when she was accosted by two men demanding money. The suspects pulled the woman to the ground and she was punched and kicked.

A woman was walking alone on a footpath near King St. around 11 pm Thursday when she was accosted by two men demanding money.

The suspects pulled the woman to the ground and she was punched and kicked. The two culprits stole her ring and fled the scene. The woman was treated and released at the hospital.

Both suspects wore puffy black coats, one with a yellow stripe across the front and hood while the other suspect wore a "weird" hat. One of the suspects is described as fat, the other as skinny.

In another incident, a woman was walking alone at around 1 am Friday, in the Main St. area, east of River Rd. in Val Caron when two men ran towards her and demanded her purse.

A struggle ensued and the two men ran off with the woman's purse, she received only minor physical injuries.

The first suspect is white, five feet seven inches tall, 165 pounds, slim build and wearing a white hooded sweater, a dark coloured jacket, blue jeans and white running shoes.

The second is white, five foot eight inches, 155 pounds, slim build and wearing a dark blue hooded seater, a dark coloured jacket, blue jeans and light coloured footwear. Both suspects spoke clear English.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
