Police still investigating after man was found beside train tracks in Azilda

Greater Sudbury Police service said in a Tweet that, along with CP Police, officers responded to an unconscious male located beside the tracks in Azilda.

He was taken to Health Sciences North with serious injuries. The investigation in ongoing.

Greater Sudbury Police is investigating an apparent collision between a pedestrain and a train that happened in Azilda today.

Officers at the scene weren't able to provide any details about what happened or the extent of injuries, but a caller to Sudbury.com's tip line said a pedestrian was hit by a train and that the injuries were severe.

A Greater Sudbury Police forensic van was on scene. A CP Police cruiser sat inside the taped-off area, where some clothes and a pair of boots were sitting in a pile beside the train tracks. No train could be seen near the site where police were investigating

None of the information has been confirmed yet. Sudbury.com contacted Greater Sudbury Police Service, but has yet to hear back from them.
