Greater Sudbury Police are canvassing the area near Lloyd Street for a 27-year-old male suspect.

The suspect is alleged to have stabbed a 30-year-old man in the neck. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The victim and the suspect are known to each other and this is an isolated incident. There is no concern for public safety.

Greater Sudbury Police are currently at the scene of an incident that sent one man to hospital in critical condition on Wednesday afternoon.

Police received a call at around 1:30 p.m. and have since taped off entry to Brian McKee Lane and vehicles are not being allowed through.

As many as five police cruisers are at the scene, as well as the GSPS Forensic Unit.

"Officers are gathering information at the scene and talking to witnesses," said GSPS spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn. "Anyone who saw something or has any information is asked to contact the police.

One male suspect is at large, but there is not yet any description of the suspect.

Sudbury.com reporter Callam Rodya is at the scene, but officers have not yet provided any information as to the nature of the incident.
