Police are investigating what witnesses describe as a serious assault and possible abduction Sunday outside of the Ledo Hotel on Elgin St.
According to police, a man was walking alone down the street when a dark-coloured four-door sports utility vehicle came to an abrupt halt beside him.
Three to five men jumped from the vehicle and beat the man, knocking him to the ground unconscious. The battered man was picked up and placed in the vehicle, which sped away from the scene.
The victim is described as being clean cut, about 25 years old, average height and slim build, wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants.
The suspects are all described as white, between 20 and 30 years old and clean cut. Two had short hair and two were wearing white tank tops.
The vehicle used in the possible abduction is said to have tinted windows and over-sized black roof racks.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
