Police investigating sexual assault

Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a sexual assault that took place during last weekend?s national championship curling event at the Garson Arena. Police say the assault involves a man who was volunteering at the arena.

Police say the assault involves a man who was volunteering at the arena. A woman, who was also volunteering at the curling event, says she was sexually assault.

Police are not identifying the complainant.

The complainant suffered physical injuries as a result of the sexual assault, say police.

Police continue to search for forensic and physical evidence in relation to the incident.

A Val Caron man, age 59, has been charged with one count of sexual assault causing bodily harm. The man was released on bail with several conditions earlier this week.
