Police make drug bust on King St.

With the help of the K-9 unit, Greater Sudbury Police made a pair of arrests and seized $7,143 worth illicit drugs in the King St. area May 1.

With the help of the K-9 unit, Greater Sudbury Police made a pair of arrests and seized $7,143 worth illicit drugs in the King St. area May 1.

Police stopped a vehicle suspected of carrying drugs and found 43 grams of crack cocaine, 29 grams of magic mushrooms and a variety of prescription pills. Police also seized a replica handgun, an assortment of drug paraphernalia and $10,223 in cash.

Two men, both 35 years old, have been charged with six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. One of the accused is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon while the other is charged with breach of probation.
