A date has been set for a preliminary hearing into charges laid against a veteran Greater Sudbury Police officer.
Robin Chuipka, 44, was charged in the middle of September with 17 counts, including 12 for assault, and was suspended from the police service with pay until these matters proceed through the courts.
On Friday, defence counsel Andrew Buttazzoni said the preliminary hearing has been scheduled to begin Feb. 21, 2005 at the Sudbury courthouse.
An assistant Crown attorney from outside the Sudbury jurisdiction will be prosecuting the case.
