Officers with the traffic management unit were busy conducting radar enforcement on Municipal Rd. 35 over the weekend, charging several people with speeding including one man driving 95 km/h over the speed limit.
On Oct. 20 Greater Sudbury Police clocked a 1998 Oldsmobile driving 175 km/h in a 80 km/h zone. After pulling the car over, police were approached by other motorists who gave statements about the dangerous way the man was driving. The 25-year-old driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and had his licence suspended for 12-hours for having a blood alcohol level above .05 mg. He has since be released on a promise to appear in court.
Six other people were also charged for driving at least 113 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Municipal Rd. 35.
