The Greater Sudbury Police Service has released more details on a fatal snowmobile accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Garson.
A woman lost control of her snowmachine and struck a tree on a Sudbury Trail Plan Association trail on O'Neil Drive in Garson, said police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn. Dunn said the trail was closed at the time of the crash.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor.
Greater Sudbury Police Traffic Management unit continues to investigate the crash and are in contact with next of kin.
The identity of the deceased woman will not be released at the request of her family.
