Greater Sudbury Police are investigating a robbery that took place Wednesday Nov. 29 at Horizon High School in Val Caron.

At approximately 9:30 pm, a group of young men entered the school with a handgun and restrained a female custodian who was working at the time. The suspects used keys to access the shop area of the school and removed acetylene torches. Using the torches, the suspects attempted to break into a safe in the school office.

Two of the suspects have been described by the custodian. The first is white, between 18 and 20 years-old, five-foot-one, 120 to 125 pounds and short dark hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt, dark coloured pants and white running shoes. The second suspect is also white, five-foot-four and about 130 pounds. Both suspects had pieces of material covering their faces.

Several multi-media projectors and laptop computers were stolen from the school. Police say they believe a vehicle was used during the robbery. Although shaken, the custodian was not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to phone police or Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
