A Sudbury man who has made a criminal career out of breaking into other people's homes was given a stiff 12-month sentence and lecture Thursday at the Sudbury Courthouse.
Justice William Fitzgerald told Terry Gorval, 32, that committing break and enters and stealing valuables from strangers "is an extreme invasion of privacy" and considering Gorval's long record for committing the same crimes calls out for a long jail sentence.
Gorval, who has a lengthy criminal record of property offences dating back 12 years, pleaded guilty to breaking into a Sudbury home July 1, 1999 and again while out on bail Dec. 27, 2000.
