Residents charged with drug trafficking

Three people face drug charges following a drug bust in Lively last week. Members of the Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit, consisting of officers from the local OPP, RCMP and Greater Sudbury Police detachments, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant.

The search recovered $4,280 in Canadian currency, 6.2 pounds of cannabis marijuana, 85 grams of cannabis resin, 2.5 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), a digital scale and packaging material.

The drugs? value is about $58,000. Police have charged a 22-year-old man, 18-year-old girl and 28-year-old man, all from Lively, with three counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

On March 30, police searched a Garson home and found $2,847 worth of drugs including 72 grams of marijuana and 14 grams of cocaine. Residents of this property are being charged with possession of controlled substances with intent of trafficking.
