A 20-year-old Sudbury man faces a slew of criminal charges following his arrest at an apartment on Lasalle Boulevard on July 20.

According to police, the man was allegedly involved in the robbery of the M&M Variety on Leslie Street in February, followed a few days later by the robbery of Mr. Gas at 2002 Bancroft Drive. In both incidents, cash and cigarettes were taken.

The man is also accused of break, enter and theft, theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, flight from police and Highway Traffic charges. The acts were committed during a robbery from a home on John Street in March. Objects from the home were stolen, including a vehicle from the driveway. After spotting the stolen vehicle, a police chase ensued but was called off. A short time later, police discovered the empty vehicle, which had been involved in a single-vehicle accident and abandoned.

As well, the man is accused of break, enter and theft pertaining to a garage on Normandy Court, which was broken into with articles being stolen and later recovered.

Lastly, on the day of his arrest, the man is accused of obstructing justice by pretending to be someone else when police arrived at the apartment on Lasalle Boulevard to take him into custody.

As a result of the investigation into these charges, the man also faces 16 breach of probation charges.
