If you're going to be in downtown Sudbury this morning, you may face some traffic disruptions due to the Sisters in Spirit Walk.

The event draws attention to the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.

The walk begins at the N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre on Elm Street at around 11:15 a.m., and will finish at around 11:55 a.m.

The expected route for this walk will affect traffic on the following roadways: Elm Street, Elgin Street, Larch Street, Minto Street, Brady Street and Durham Street.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service respects everyone’s right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, said a press release.

Officers will be present during the walk, working with organizers to ensure the safe and orderly movement of traffic.
