A man who was reported missing in the Killarney area last week was found by police driving a stolen pickup truck on Highway 69, according to the Sudbury OPP.

Kenneth Wood, 51, of Elk Point, Alberta, was reported missing by family and friends concerned for his well-being at 11 a.m. June 15. He'd last been seen 25 hours earlier, at 10 a.m. June 14, on a trail off of Highway 637.

At around 8:25 p.m. June 15, the Sudbury OPP responded to a call of a stolen vehicle off of Rock Lake Road, only a few kilometers from where Wood had gone missing.

Police also learned that there was damage to a motor home on the same property.

Around an hour later, police located the stolen vehicle on Highway 69 at Hartley Bay Road in French River. A spike belt was deployed to stop the vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the vehicle being stopped.

Wood was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, mischief under $5,000, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor and driving a motor vehicle with no licence.

After appearing in bail court Monday, he was released on a promise to appear in court again June 27.
