Student sprays noxious substance at Lasalle Secondary School

Police responded to a complaint from the principal at Lasalle Secondary School that a 16-year-old youth is alleged to have sprayed a substance, believed to be pepper spray, in the hallway of the school’s main floor on Dec. 19 at 10:30 am.

Police responded to a complaint from the principal at Lasalle Secondary School that a 16-year-old youth is alleged to have  sprayed a substance, believed to be pepper spray, in the hallway of the school’s main floor on Dec. 19 at 10:30 am. 

Two students suffered the effects of the substance and were taken to hospital, treated and released.

The accused faces charges of unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and administering a noxious thing with intent to endanger life or cause serious bodily harm as a result of the incident. 

The young person’s identity is protected under the Youth and Criminal Justice Act.
