Sudbury lawyer Donald Plaunt is back in jail.

He was arrested on Wednesday and charged with one count of obstructing justice and six counts of breach of recognizance.

Plaunt was already facing 25 charges, 22 of them related to sexual offenses against minors.

He will remain in custody until he appears for a bail hearing some time this week.

Plaunt was out on a bail and under strict conditions with a $500, 000 surety when he was arrested.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police have an on-going joint investigation into complaints filed by males between the ages of 12 and 21 that they had been sexually assaulted between 1972 and 2002.

In accordance with his strict bail conditions, Plaunt is prohibited from having contact with numerous people, can't leave Sudbury unless it's to meet with his lawyer, he must report to police once a week, stay away from public pools and parks, and can't have any contact with male persons under the age of 18 unless the young person is a member of his family or is the company and care of a parent or guardian.
