Sudbury man arrested for impaired driving by West Parry Sound OPP

On May 18 at approximately 8:30 p.m., West Parry Sound OPP received a call about a driver suspected to be impaired, travelling on Emily Street in Parry Sound. 

Upon locating the vehicle, police say they spoke to the driver and determined that he had in fact consumed alcohol. 

As a result of the incident, the 33-year-old driver from Sudbury, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC). In addition to this, the vehicle was driving was impounded for seven days. 

This is the 20th impaired driver the West Parry Sound OPP have arrested this year.

The accused has since been released, but is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on June 6. 

The West Parry Sound OPP would like to remind motorists that there is no safe amount of drug or alcohol consumption when driving.
