Greater Sudbury Police and the Ministry of Natural Resources had no luck tracking down a bear that attacked a 19-year old man in the Kelly Lake area Tuesday.
Police say the man was sitting on a rock when the bear approached from behind and apparently attacked without provocation or warning. The man has been treated for minor injuries.
Police say the man had a dog with him at the time who may have helped chase the bear away.
Police and MNR officials were unable to locate the bear and are reminding residents to be vigilant when venturing into the bush.
