Sudbury OPP charge 14 motorists for distracted driving

Sudbury OPP participated in the Distracted Driving Campaign from March 11 - 17.

Officers conducted 157 traffic stops wered and 14 distracted driving charges were issued.

The OPP is reminding the public that 14 is 14 too many. 

"Distracted driving remains a serious road safety issue," said the Sudbury OPP in a news release.

"The OPP is encouraging people of all ages, especially passengers, to take a firm stand against those who endanger their lives and the lives of others by using their cell phones or engaging in other forms of distractions behind the wheel."

Although the campaign is over, the OPP continue their efforts in locating and charging those who insist on holding and/or operating electronic/communication wireless devices while operating a vehicle.
