A medical call-related sudden death was reported in the Long Lake Road / Highway 17 bypass area at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
A Greater Sudbury Police Service spokesperson reported that a 60-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital and offered the police service’s deepest condolences to her family and friends.
They declined to offer additional insight on why a sudden death would result in traffic delays.
The incident is being investigated as a sudden death and the police are working with the Coroner’s Office. The office will be conducting a post mortem in order to assist in determining a cause of death.
There is no suspicion of criminality.
