A 56-year-old Barrie resident is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 69 early Sunday evening.

On October 30 at 6:09 p.m., officers from the Sudbury OPP, with the assistance of OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 69 in the Servos Township.

Police say the investigation revealed that a southbound pickup truck pulling a boat and trailer left the roadway near the Nelson Road ramp and rolled down a steep rocky embankment, before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, Morgan Taylor, 56 of Barrie, was pronounced dead at the scene, the OPP reports.

The male passenger, 55 and unnamed, from Innisfil, had to be extricated from the vehicle with the assistance of the Estaire Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, police say.
