Greater Sudbury Police charged a 19-year-old male driver Saturday with stunt driving after an officer spotted his vehicle travelling at 92 km/h in a 40 km/h zone on Valley View Road in Val Caron.

The driver was also charged with speeding and having an improper muffler.

Police suspended his driver's licence for seven days, and impounded his vehicle for the same period of time.

In two separate incidents police also charged two drivers for driving while under suspension.

Both drivers were also charged with speeding (79 km/h and the other 81 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone) and the driver travelling at 79 km/h received additional charges of operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and using plates not authorized for the vehicle.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a press release they would like to remind motorists that road safety is an essential element to overall community safety and well-being.

Police ask citizens to drive within the posted speed limits at all times and to reduce speed when the road or weather conditions are less than ideal.
