If you're planning to be in the downtown early this evening, there's some traffic disruptions you should be aware of.

The Take Back the Night march begins at the Shkagamik-kwe Community Centre located at 105 Elm St.

The expected route for this march will continue east on Elm Street entering into the downtown core.

The march begins at 7 p.m. and is expected to continue until 8 p.m.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a press release it respects everyone’s right of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.

The role of police is to ensure public safety and to keep the peace. Activities may interrupt the normal flow of traffic. Members of the Greater Sudbury Police will be present, working with organizers to ensure the safe and orderly movement of traffic.

The public is being encouraged to be patient when travelling in the downtown core this evening and be respectful to all pedestrians. Motorists may want to consider alternate routes when navigating through the downtown core this evening.

In case you'd like to participate, more details about Take Back the Night are available here.
