Traffic stop results in seizure of nearly $5K in drugs

A traffic stop in New Sudbury on Feb. 10 netted police $4,750 in cocaine and prescription medication as well as $1,300 in Canadian currency. The stop happened around 4:15 p.m.

A traffic stop in New Sudbury on Feb. 10 netted police $4,750 in cocaine and prescription medication as well as $1,300 in Canadian currency.

The stop happened around 4:15 p.m., and the drugs were allegedly found with the driver, a 50-year-old Markstay man.

He has been charged with 10 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.

He is scheduled to appear in bail court Feb. 11.
