Two bodies found in remote cabin

UPDATE: Post-mortem examinations were completed by Dr. Martin Queen at the North East Regional Forensic Pathology Unit in Sudbury. Results concluded that both victims died as a result of foul play.

UPDATE: Post-mortem examinations were completed by Dr. Martin Queen at the North East Regional Forensic Pathology Unit in Sudbury.  Results concluded that both victims died as a result of foul play. Police are treating this investigation as a double homicide, however, are not releasing the cause of death at this time.

Investigators are asking members of the public who were traveling on the access road on the pole line from Moose Mountain to Thor Lake, north of Capreol, on the evening of Thursday, May 15 and the early morning hours of Friday, May 16, to contact the Sudbury OPP Crime Unit at 564-6900. An anonymous report can be made through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

The OPP is considering the deaths as suspicious.

The victims have been identified as Carolyn Carroll, 44, of Wahnapitae and Mark Anthony Comeau, 46, of Coniston, who is originally from New Brunswick

Post-mortem examinations have been scheduled for May 20 in Sudbury.

The investigation is being led by the Criminal Investigation Branch, with investigators from the Sudbury Crime Unit and the OPP’s North East Region. The North East Region Emergency Response Team has also been conducting an extensive ground search of the area.

The OPP is asking anyone with information or who was in this area at the time, to call the Sudbury OPP Crime Unit at 564-6900.
