The OPP are still investigating a tractor-trailer crash that occurred Tuesday Aug. 15, left two drivers in the hospital and closed Highway 69 for about six hours.

The crash took place at the French River Supply Post Rd. when the driver of a tractor-trailer didn't notice a second tractor-trailer had stopped to make a left turn. Fearing she may be rear-ended, the driver of the truck turning left pulled her rig off the the side of the road.

The driver coming from behind then hit the brakes, causing his trailer to jack-knife and swing in front of and collide with an on-coming tractor-trailer.

The two drivers involved in the crash were taken to hospital suffering from serious but non life-threatening injuries. The driver that pulled her truck to the side of the road was not injured.

Due to a diesel spill, the Ministry of Environment was notified and a spill response contractor from Sudbury was hired to clean up.

The investigation is continuing.
