Two teens charged after street racing complaint

Greater Sudbury Police received a complaint of two vehicles racing southbound on Paris St. July 20 around 12:48 pm. One of the vehicles was identified as a Silver Saturn and the other a Mazda.

Greater Sudbury Police received a complaint of two vehicles racing southbound on Paris St. July 20 around 12:48 pm. One of the vehicles was identified as a Silver Saturn and the other a Mazda.

Police say the complaint came from a motorist who was passed by vehicles at a high rate of speed. The vehicles were then seen overtaking slower traffic as they proceeded west on Paris St.

Two 17-year-old boys with their G2 class licences have been charged with careless driving and face a fine of $325 and six demerit points upon conviction.

According to police, the teens are currently serving licence suspensions administered by their parents.
