Greater Sudbury Police put their automatic licence-plate recognition (ALPR) system  technology to good use yesterday, laying several charges.

The ALPR system detected two unlicenced drivers and a suspended driver. Charges were laid in all three cases.

The suspended driver had had his driver's licence suspended for more than three years, police said in a Facebook post. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

“This driver will be attending court in the near future to answer to several charges in relation to this traffic stop,” the Facebook post.
