Windsor man charged with impaired after crashing vehicle in Sudbury area

The 48-year-old had his licence suspended, faces three charges

A Windsor, Ont., man is facing charges after a single-vehicle collision on Highway 17 on Oct. 6.

Nipissing West OPP report investigating a single-vehicle crash on Highway 17 near Hamersveld Road, west of Whitefish.

The driver wasn’t injured, but police report that upon speaking with the man it was determined he was impaired. He was arrested and transported to the Sudbury OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, the 48-year-old faces a charge of operation while impaired by alcohol or drugs, operation while impaired over 80, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The man was released on an undertaking and has a court date in Sudbury of Dec. 22. He was also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
