Summer might be over, but don’t fret: That means it’s time for another season of OHL hockey.
Head Coach Cory Stillman and the Sudbury Wolves are gearing up for the start of the season.
The Oshawa Generals are coming to town for 7:05 p.m. tilt at Sudbury Arena. It’s also a double-header weekend, so while the crew from the ’Shwa heads home, the North Bay Battalion is marching to the Nickel City for a 2 p.m. match on Sunday.
What a way to kick off the first official weekend of the fall: A double-header weekend of Wolves hockey. Plus, it’ll be the first chance for the Pack to don their new jerseys.
Interestingly, the Generals roster features Riley Stillman, son of Wolves coach Cory Stillman, so that should make for an interesting father-son rivalry on the ice at Sudbury Arena. The Wolves will also be looking for revenge after the Generals ousted them in Game 6 of the playoffs last season.
Don’t miss the Your Independent Grocer Shopping Cart race during the second intermission where one lucky fan will win a great prize. Weather permitting, the Sudbury Wolves will also hold a Fan Appreciation BBQ event on Sunday prior to the game. If the weather’s nice, the barbecue starts noon with free hot dogs and live entertainment.
