For the second year in a row, Kristine Lalonde, as a member of Team Ontario, has won the gold medal at the Under-15 National Girls Basketball Championships recently held in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

For the second year in a row, Kristine Lalonde, as a member of Team Ontario, has won the gold medal at the Under-15 National Girls Basketball Championships recently held in Sherbrooke, Quebec.  Lalonde, a Lasalle Secondary student, was the starting point guard for the team that went through the tournament undefeated in all six games.  In pool play, Ontario defeated Saskatchewan 71-66, Alberta 68-55, Newfoundland 51-36, and Quebec 66-57. In semi-final action, Ontario defeated Nova Scotia 78-53 and in the final held at Bishop's University, played Alberta (Alberta beat British Columbia in the other semi final)  once again and were victorious 69-67.

Lalonde was the co-captain for Team Ontario, led the team in assists, defensively led the team in steals, averaged 8 points per game with a game high of 23 points vs Saskatchewan and was the co-leader for the number of 3 point shots made for Team Ontario.  For her performance, Lalonde was selected to the First Team All-Star at the National Championships (1st team All Canadian). The U17 Girls (also in Sherbrooke) team placed 6th, and both the U15 and U17 Boys won gold medals at the Championships held in Vancouver, B.C.
