Beech wins weekly honours

The Canadian Hockey League has announced that Kevin Beech of the Sudbury Wolves is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 3-0-0-0 record along with a 1.33 goals-against-average and .956 save percentage in three starts last week.

The Canadian Hockey League has announced that Kevin Beech of the Sudbury Wolves is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 3-0-0-0 record along with a 1.33 goals-against-average and .956 save percentage in three starts last week.

Beech started the week by allowing one goal on 30 shots in a 4-1 win over the Brampton Battalion Dec. 15. The next night, the 20-year-old London native allowed one goal on 28 shots in a 5-1 win over the Peterborough Petes. He finished the weekend with goals on 32 shots in a 4-2 win over the Mississauga IceDogs on Dec.17.

With the wins, Beech improved his season record to 15-12-1-2 with a 3.08 goals-against-average and .900 save percentage in 32 games.

Each week the CHL recognizes the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2006-07 season.
