The Sudbury Wolves held their annual year-end awards banquet on March 12 to recognize players for the milestones they achieved this season.

Although it was not the season that anyone expected, many players were able to reach personal bests and had career seasons including team captain Kyle Rhodes, rookie Blake Murray, defenseman Cole Candella and winger Drake Pilon.

Rhodes and Murray led the way with three awards each and Drake Pilon was close behind with two including Most Valuable Player.

“Our team, made up of all of the individual players responded to the adversity we faced this year and took advantage of the opportunities that those challenges created”, said GM Rob Papineau. “When you see players step up, perform, and mature quickly as leaders, like we saw this year, we can only benefit from that kind of development for our future.”
