Sudbury Five's AJ Mosby Jr. earned player of the game honours in the Feb. 13 match against the London Lightning. Mosby's 22 points helped the Five to a 104-101 win.

The Sudbury Five were in London on Tuesday night, hoping to win the rematch against the London Lightning, after falling to the Lightning by 16 in Sudbury just two nights prior.

Both teams started out playing an even basketball game, each scoring 23 points in the first quarter, with the Five getting contributions from Duane Notice (10 points in the game) and Cody John (16 points in the game.)

Sudbury started to open up a bit of a lead in the second quarter. Player of the Game A.J. Mosby Jr. scored 22 points in the game, while Landon Kirkwood tallied 27 points. By the half, the Five were up by a score of 63-47.

The Lightning started to mount a comeback attempt right out of the gate in the third quarter, and thanks to big performances from players like Billy White (21 points) and Nick Garth (19 points), London closed the deficit to seven points, trailing the Five by 85-78 with one quarter remaining.

Although the Lightning outscored the Five 23-19 in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide, and the Five came away with the 104-101 victory.

With the victory, the Sudbury Five now hold a record of seven wins and five losses on the season.

Up next, the Five welcome the the Windsor Express to Sudbury arena tonight at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, the KW Titans come to town for a 7 p.m. match. And finally, the team welcomes the Montreal Toundra on Family Day Monday for a special matinee game at 2 p.m.

In April, the Five hit the road to Newfoundland to take on the Rogues.**
