Former Sudbury Wolves head coach Dave Matsos — who has a new job as head coach with the Hamilton Bulldogs — had a bit of a health scare Saturday night.

He was taken to hospital for precautionary measures after he collapsed on the bench in the final seconds of Saturday night’s game in Barrie.

According to a Global News report, Matsos, 44, was attended to by on-site paramedics and was alert and responsive when he was taken out of the Barrie Molson Centre on a stretcher.

There's still no word on what caused him to collapse.

The Sudbury Wolves, which parted ways with Matsos in 2017, issued the following tweet.

“Speedy recovery to Head Coach Matsos,” the tweet said. “We know how tough he is and expect him back ready to rock October 19 on Elgin Street when you visit the nickel city next.”
