Marcus Vandenberg was once again the starting goalie for the Wolves March 16, while the Generals went with Jacob Oster between the pipes.

Oshawa scored their first goal of the game at the 5:57 mark of the first period off the stick of Connor Lockhart, his 24th goal of the season, to give the Generals a 1-0 lead.

Beckett Sennecke added to the lead for Oshawa with 5:13 remaining in the period with his 25th goal of the season, making the score 2-0 for Oshawa.

With 58 seconds remaining in the period and while on the power play, Dylan Roobroeck scored his 23rd of the season, giving the Generals a commanding 3-0 lead.

With 27 seconds to go in the first, Stuart Rolofs scored his 32nd goal of the season, capping off the first period with a score of 4-0 for the Oshawa Generals.

At the 4:12 mark of the second period, Chase Coughlan finally put the Wolves on the board with his 10th goal of the season, making the score 4-1 for Oshawa.

Oshawa got the four-goal lead right back under two minutes later with Roobroeck’s second goal of the game, making the score 5-1 for the Generals.

Andre Anania scored his ninth goal of the season for the Wolves just under 12 minutes into the middle frame, closing the gap to 5-2, with the Generals still ahead with one period remaining in the game.

At the 1:57 mark of the third period, Sudbury native Alex Pharand scored his 15th goal of the season to pull the Wolves within two, making the score 5-3 for Oshawa.

Just over a minute and a half later, Lucas Marrelli scored his sixth goal of the season making the score 6-3 for the Generals.

Beckett Sennecke scored his second goal of the game at the 7:34 mark of the second period, putting the Gens on top 7-3.

12:07 into the period, Donovan McCoy scored his ninth goal of the season for Sudbury, making the score 7-4 for Oshawa.

Rasmus Kumpulainen scored for the Generals with under five minutes remaining in the game, his 27th goal of the season, making the score 8-4 for Oshawa.

Dalibor Dvorsky would score his 39th goal of the season for the Wolves with 19 seconds remaining in the game, but the Generals skated away with the win by a score of 8-5.

After the loss, the Sudbury Wolves now hold a record of 35 wins, 21 regulation losses, four overtime losses, and three shootout losses, good for third place in the Central Division, fifth place in the Eastern Conference, and ninth place in the Ontario Hockey League, with five games remaining in their regular season.

The Sudbury Wolves get right back on the ice on Saturday, March 16 in Barrie for a game with the Barrie Colts with a scheduled start time of 7:30 p.m.
