Gridiron heats up early

Fans of high school football can quench their thirst for gridiron action today. The annual North versus South Classic is back, featuring the best high school football wars in the city. The wild excitement starts at 4 pm at Queen's Athletic Field.

The wild excitement starts at 4 pm at Queen's Athletic Field. Admission is $2 per person.

At 4 pm, fans can see St. Charles take on Lo-Ellen Park. At 5 pm, Confederation and Lasalle hook up for battle. At 6 pm, the best players from the eight schools face off in the fourth-annual skills competition. Players will test their skills in passing, punting, kicking and receiving competitions.

The football action resumes at 7 pm when Notre-Dame clashes with St. Benedict. At 8 pm, last year's city champs Lockerby takes on St. Benedict.
