The Harlem Globetrotters will make impressive trick shots and bring their unique brand of basketball to the Sudbury Arena on April 8.
Anthony 'Buckets” Blakes made an early visit to Sudbury Thursday, where he met with Northern Life reporter Jonathan Migneault, and Jim Gray, a senior designer and photographer with Sudbury Sports Magazine, to show them some trick passes and play a short game of HORSE.
Blakes, a 12-year veteran with the Globetrotters, said he has visited 74 countries during his career with the team.
“I love coming back to Canada,” Blakes said. “It's cold, but we always get a warm welcome here.”
He said the best part of his job is making people all over the world smile and laugh.
The Globetrotters will perform at the Sudbury Arena starting at 7 p.m.
Their Sudbury visit is part of their 2014 Fans Rule World Tour, in which fans can vote on quirky rules for the game by visiting the official Globetrotters website.
