The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is hosting a series of minor hockey summits across Ontario over the next month and one of their stops brings them to Sudbury.
This summit will be held at the Howard Johnson Hotel on Sunday,
Jan. 14. The event starts at 8:30 am and runs until 1 pm.
The summits provide an open forum for parents, players,
coaches, officials, and administrators to voice opinions,
feelings, and provide suggestions regarding the topics and
issues concerning minor hockey. Some topics include: coaching,
officials, rules, body checking, volunteers, frequency of
programming, cost of playing the game, safety, role of parents
in the game, ice concerns (ie. time, location, cost), why
players leave the game, travel and overall enjoyment of the
Game.
The OHF has structured the summits in such a way to ensure
feedback is collected throughout the OHF jurisdiction. In
total, eight summits will take place between Jan. 13 and Feb.
24, 2007.  At each location, all participants will be
entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Jarome Iginla Team
Canada jersey.
Registration is open and can be accessed via the OHF website at
www.ohf.on.ca
.  There's no cost to attend but advance registration is
required, and will be limited to the first 100 people who
register. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
