Jr. Wolves down two games in playoff series

Posted by Sudbury Northern Life  The Sudbury Junior Wolves are trailing to the Abitibi Eskimos 0-2 in the seven game NOJHL playoff series after they were defeated 2-1 at the Garson Arena Wednesday night.

The Sudbury Junior Wolves are trailing to the Abitibi Eskimos 0-2 in the seven game NOJHL playoff series after they were defeated 2-1 at the Garson Arena Wednesday night.

The Eskimos got on the board first with a marker by Alex Fiset in the first frame. Neither team would see the back of the net in the second, and the Eskimos would add to their lead in the third with a goal by Josh Clancy.

Jordan Cheechoo cut their lead in half with less than two minutes in the period, scoring the only marker for the Jr. Wolves, ending the frame with a final score of 2-1. Joey Delwo netminded for the Jr. Wolves and made 25 saves in the losing effort.

The team will head to Iroquois Falls on Friday before returning to home ice Sunday afternoon for game four of the series. Game time is 2 p.m.
